Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: A- 2 year old girl child was rescued at Gorekhanath Pitha 15 km away from here on Wednesday. The infant baby was reported crying alone inside the temple, few devotees those were thronged at the temple came to the child and enquired her problem but the infant stood mute became unable to speak, later locals informed Tirtol police station about the incident. Police after receiving the baby informed district Child Welfare Committee [CWC] for conducting legal formalities mandated under JJ Act and Rules.
Meanwhile CWC after receiving the child taking its custody and has posted photo of the abandoned girl in social media seeking public assistance ascertaining her identity.
