108 Ambulance staff go on strike, patient transportation hit in Jagatsinghpur

Report by Kahnu Nanda, Jagatsinghpur: The 108 Ambulance service was hit after its service members as driver, pharmacists and attendants on Tuesday staged demonstration by parking Ambulances before the collector office parade ground here later the agitated 108 employees submitted their mass resignation to collector protesting against the illegal arrest of association secretary Manoj Kumar Sahoo.

As many as 11 Ambulances were parked at the ground accompanied by its 77 employees as consequence 108 free ambulance service was disrupted across Jagatsinghpur district on Tuesday. According to the association president Niranjan Nayak informed that our association secretary Manoj Kumar Sahoo has been falsely implicated in a case by our service provider Ziquza Health Care Ltd organisation.

Manoj got victimised due to his able leadership organising all Odisha 108 ambulance association and fighting for causes of its employees so we demand immediate Manoj Sahoo release from jail. Taking stock of the 108 Ambulance staff strike headquarters hospital authority has made alternative arrangements restoring patient transportation but sources added that it is insufficient to meet the demand.
