Konark: World’s one of the best marine Drive Puri-Konark safe haven for criminals. Be it the attack on tourists reported, or ransack of water sports facility of Scuba diver Sabir Bux near Lotus Resort reported on three days ago, little seems to have changed to secure the best marine drive and tourist place in golden triangle of Odisha. Though police arrested some person on this regard but still not strengthen patrolling in the area.
It should be noted that the cops seldom regularly patrolling in Konark-Puri marine drive even in the wake of cases of misconduct to tourists reported on them. Local intellectuals have suggested regular patrolling will keep out the rogue elements. Having police posts or pickets around the Konark-Puri marine drive may also help. But there is no regular patrolling in Konark-Puri marine drive for which tourists from different part of the world facing problem from these anti-social element.
It should be noted that earlier National Commission for Women demanded 24-hour police patrolling on Puri-Konark marine drive where a blind girl was raped and murdered.
Security arrangements must be strengthened in the area as a large number of tourists, including many foreigners, visit Puri and Konark .
