Jharsuguda: On 30th July, 2019, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda conducted an Onsite Emergency Mock Drill at HFO /LDO storage yard of the 2400 MW TPP. The mockdrill, a simulation of fire in HFO/LDO Storage Tank, was attended by Chief Guest Shri. Swaroop Jena, Deputy Director of Factories and Boilers – Sambalpur Division, Guest of Honor Shri. Anil Nanda, Asst. Director of Factories and Boilers – Jharsuguda & Sambalpur Zone, Shri. Ranjit Lakra, Chief Fire Officer – Jharsuguda Zone, Shri. Bhaskar Bhattarjee, COO – Power, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda and representatives from nearby companies like OPGC, TRL Krosaki, Ultratech, IOCL, Sterlite Optical, Bhushan Steel & Power and more than 400 employees of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda.
As a part of the mockdrill, a height rescue demonstration and awareness training was organized by Vedanta Fire & Rescue team. Post the simulation, a meeting was held wherein merits and areas of improvement of the drill were discussed. The exercise was well appreciated by the govt. officials and mutual-aid partners (nearby industries) present, for ace coordination and team effort in demonstrating Emergency Situation readiness.
