Report by Odisha Diary bureau, Jharsuguda: Vedanta and FIIT –JEE today conducted a One day Career Guidance Workshop for more than 650 Students from 12 Schools of Jharsuguda at Vedanta Meadows , Jharsuguda.
The long and keenly awaited workshop was conducted Vedanta and FIIT JEE in close coordination with the school management of all the lead Higher Secondary schools of Jharsuguda including both English and Odia Medium Schools. In absence of any lead career guidance and counselling infrastructure in Jharsuguda , the counselling was organized keeping in mind the above to make the children of senior secondary level avail a proper exposure to the range of careers they can choose post their schooling. The customised workshop conducted by FIIT JEE was to orient children of Jharsuguda on how to channelize their passion to their future profession of choice.
The formal inaugural session of the workshop was presided on dais by Mr. Dayanidhi Behera, Head Aluminium Operations, Vedanta Jharsuguda, Mr. Dilip Ranjan Sahu, Head Human Resources, Aluminium Sector, Vedanta, Mr P.K.Dash, Head FIIT JEE, Odisha Chapter and Dr. Prof Dhrubraj Naik, Ex Vice-Chancellor, Sambalpur University, who was also the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Dayanidhi Behera advised the children to pursue their dreams with passion and profession of choice till goal is achieved, while Mr. Dilip Sahu encouraged children for their overall development and to develop keen interest in sports as mid-level cities are the future hub of talent hunt for India. Dr Naik , an academician himself shared his views on significance of choosing the right career and encouraged children to be close to environment and choose afforestation as their passion for life.
Mr. P K Dash, the lead anchor, counsellor and Head of FIIT JEE Odisha opined that Corporates and reputed career expert agencies like FIIT JEE can jointly reach out to all corners of the state with such sessions for enabling children to make a choice in their life on right career. He lauded the effort by Vedanta and his team for this unique CSR initiative.
The seminar was delivered by Mr Dash, a noted educationist and student motivator. He discussed the Secret Mantras for getting success. Students got an opportunity to analyse their strengths, weakness, liking & core competencies and. This was an eye opener session for the students. During the seminar students set their career goal for their own future.
In this seminar various career options available after 12th std. such as CA, CS, CWA, CFA, Actuary, Merchant Navy, Pilot, Art & Designing, Law, Engineering, Medical, Paramedical, Sports, Administrative Services, Management, and Defence Services etc. were discussed
The session was widely appreciated by the present school children, teachers and other dignitaries present on the occasion. A team of employee volunteer was also present during the occasion who will carry the momentum forward with the school in the following days. The event was coordinated by the CSR-PR team of Vedanta Jharsuguda.
