Bhubaneswar : On the auspicious day of Gandhi Jayanti, the Aditya Birla Group Company Utkal Alumina International Limited (UAIL) along with the Distt. Administration of Rayagada have launched a very unique programme called, “Suryodya” one of its kind Nursery project,“focusing upon the women group as the business partner and to enable them to become Agri-prenuers. In this unique arrangements women group and the local business partner will start the social enterprise project and will share the profit among themselves. UAIL will be the buyer of their saplings and support them while giving them the buy back guarantee apart from assisting them in setting up this Nursery”.
This was inaugurated by the Tehsildar of Kashipur Mr Soubhagya Behera, the BDO Kashipur Mr Bedabara Pradhan. Mr Soubhagya Behera, Tehsildar, Kashipur, while addressing the gathering applauded the efforts of Women group for coming forward and starting such a venture. He urged to make the project a role model for not only Odisha but also in the national level and congratulated UAIL for coming up with such kind of model to encourage social enterprise in the area. The same venture can be replicatedin other mining area of Odisha, he reitertated.
Mr. Bedabara Pradhan, BDO Kashipur also requested the ladies group to manage the project by any cost which will be an example for other people.
While informing about the programme Mr. TM Prakash, VP HR, said “ The objective of this programme is to start a social enterprise to create various saplings forestry and non forestry one., Where the women group along with the local business partner. UAIL along with the business partner have encouraged the women to start their own venture so as to be make them Agri-preneurs.
Local villagers Mr. Gunanidhi Bagh and SankriNaik of Paikakupakhal also spoke and thanked the company for starting such venture in their village for livelihood of the women.

Manager – Admin were present in the occasion.
