Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said OBC population of Odisha to be benefited by formation of OBC Commission

Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday said 52 per cent of population of the State belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) category would be benefited by formation of the OBC Commission.

“The Congress had neglecting Backward Classes people for the last 71 years. But the Narendra Modi Government took a historic step by conferring Constitutional status to OBC Commission. Fifty-two per cent of Odisha people would be benefitted,” said Pradhan.

Leaders and activists of the BJP OBC Morcha welcomed in a big way after he reached the Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Sunday.

He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah for setting of the OBC Commission.

He said the BJP would hold ‘Social Justice Fortnight’ across the country from August 15 to August 31. The fortnight would be observed in Odisha for SCs, STs and OBCs in a big way, he said.
