Kaniha: A tobacco de-addiction Centre was inaugurated at NTPC Talcher Kaniha by Shri Santosh James ,Chief General Manager on 26.10.2018.The de-addiction centre will be devoted for employees and family members and locals for de-addiction of tobacco e.g pan ,gutka & cigarette.
Doctors at the centre will counsel the interested persons who registered themselves for de-addiction of tobacco in addition to, patients who been suffering from tobacco intake habits will be encouraged for de-addiction in consultation with the patient and their family members.
After the inauguration, Chief General Manager while addressing the gathering said “to organise road shows on propagating tobacco de-addiction”. He stressed upon on providing publicity at township and nearby places to involve more persons suffering from tobacco habits for de-addiction.
On the occasion, employees and locals were provided gifts who have stopped consumption of tobacco after counselling as encouragement. Till now 15 members have registered at the centre for de-addiction.
