Tata Steel celebrates 114th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna JRD Tata

Kalinganagar: The 114th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna JRD Tata, doyen of aviation in India, was celebrated at Tata Steel Kalinganagar with zest and gusto. Officers and employees offered floral tributes to the great visionary. Mr Subash Kumar Sinha, Chief, Blast Furnace, Tata Steel Kalinganagar graced the occasion as Chief Guest in a function organized at the General Office.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sinha highlighted the contribution of JRD who was a great visionary and dynamic personality. Stating that JRD could foresee what was coming before all others, Mr Sinha provided insights into his life and activities. He also spoke about values of JRD which have stood the test of time and are considered as pillars of modern organizations even today while urging everybody imbibe his thoughts, for he gave everything to society.

Earlier, Tata Steel organized an Inter-School Quiz competition among School students. The team from St. Mary School was the winner. While the team from Glorius English Medium School was the first runner up, the team from Mount Litera Zee School was the second runner up. Mr Prosenjit Sarkar, Chief, Utilities, Tata Steel Kalinganagar joined as Chief Guest and felicitated winners on the occasion.

The 114th birth anniversary of JRD was also celebrated at Tata Steel Sukinda Chromite Mine and Ferro-Alloys Plant at Bamnipal. At Sukinda, floral tribute was paid to JRD. Several activities like 5-km cross country run, football match for children and a friendly football match was organized to mark the day.
