Taste of Odisha in Mumbai

Mumbai: There goes the adage, ‘Food is not rational. Food is culture, craving and identity’. Food we eat is intricately intertwined with our culture. We can learn a lot about a particular place and its culture by exploring its authentic cuisines. It would not be an exaggeration to say that food is the gateway to one’s culture.
Odisha’s rich culture too is reflected in its food, which is simple and devoid of frills and fuss. It’s delicate and light in oil and spice yet full of flavour. And what’s better way to celebrate Utkal Diwas than a sumptuous spread of delicacies from the land of Lord Jagannath.

The aroma wafting through the air mixed with Odisha pride can now be felt here in Mumbai with Pallav Odia Foundation readying the platter with authentic and luscious culinary delights from the eastern state of India alongside its catering partner Puurn Bhoj on April 7 at Palava in Nilje Gaon.

Under the expert guidance of Puurn Bhoj founder, Mrs. Akanksha Jodhani Garabadu, the team is sure to tempt you with a panorama of delicacies that are quintessentially Odia in every bite.

The paid snacks will be available at the counter from 5:30 pm. These include lip-smacking and hard-to-resist Dahibara Aloodum, Bara Ghugni, Bara Aloodum, Pakudi and Gup Chup, the Odia style Pani Puri.

The Odia snacks needs to be savoured with leisure. So ensure that you have plenty of time on hand to do so on April 7.
More than 450 people are expected at the event.
