Puri: The Sri Jagannath temple managing committee on Saturday decided to install 23 CCTV cameras on the premises of Jagannath temple.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Sri Jagannath temple managing committee chaired by Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb.
It was the first meeting of Pradipta Mohapatra after taking additional charges as chief administrator of Puri Srimandir.
Mr. Mohapatra said, “We will extend all cooperation to the district judge for carrying out investigation ordered by the Supreme Court. We will also follow the instructions passed by the apex court in respect of donation.
Besides, the managing committee also discussed filing of an affidavit in the top court during the meeting.
Speaking about the Ratna Bhandar missing keys, Mohapatra said, “The state government has formed a panel to probe into the missing keys issue. We will discuss the issue once the probe commission submits its report. We will provide all possible help to the panel. We have decided to provide all data sought by the penal.”
The meeting also thoroughly discussed for smooth conduct of various rituals during the forthcoming annual Rath Yatra.
Moreover, a special committee has been formed to settle the issue over an inadvertent transfer of Govardhan Peeth land to Puri Srimandir records. The panel was formed following allegations that some land belonging to Govardhan Peeth has come under the possession of Srimandir.
Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, SJTA chief administrator, Puri collector and SP are the members of the panel.
“The panel will hold a discussion with Shankaracharya and make effort to resolve the issue,” Mohapatra said.
