Puri: Some employees of NTPC Talcher Kaniha volunteered for distributing Solar lanterns and essential items in mostly devastated villages of severe cyclone Fani hit Puri District of Odisha.In order to provide relief to affected people in view of huge devastation caused by severe cyclone Fani. A team of NTPC Kaniha rendered a helping hand to around 500 families in the villages namely Gorapur,Kajubhui Sahi,Panaspada,Gola ,Gangadharpur on May 12,2019.
They distributed solar lantern and essential items like mosquito coil, Flour,jaggery and suji which were procured through noble contribution done by some employees of NTPC. As the said villages were devoid of electricity, which makes the solar lanterns the most needed item for villagers.The team included Gokula Nanda Swain, Anil Kumar,Debasish Pradhan,Sheetal Kumar Sahu,Sudhir Kumar Sahu,Bimal Prasad Behera & Suvendu Sundar Nayak.The relief efforts are widely appreciated by the local villagers in Puri.
