Attending the Rajya Puraskar Utsav of Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides at Raj Bhavan, Governor and patron Dr. Jamir said, Scouting and Guiding is a tool for enrichment of life skills through proper understanding and awareness of social and national needs that truly give a foundation to embrace opportunity and overcome obstacles in life.
Governor exhorted Scouts and Guides to become messengers of values that seek to create a just and compassionate social order and a clean and green environment. You must collectively work to preserve the core values of pluralism, compassionate coexistence and secularism that have served, over the years, to safeguard the fabric of our society Governor added.
Governor expressed satisfaction that the state unit of Bharat Scouts and Guides has received many prestigious honours and awards at the national level. It has been lauded for adopting innovative trainings and organizing various programmes on cleanliness and environment protection besides its regular social service and national integration camps.

Governor gave away Rajya Puraskar Certificates to Cubs, Scouts, Rovers, Bulbuls, Guides and Rangers. A cultural show was presented by Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides.
