SAT asked Odisha govt not to take any stern action against against 169 Revenue Inspectors

Cuttack: The State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) has asked the State government not to take any stern action against the 169 Revenue Inspectors, Assistant Revenue Inspectors and Amins, who were allegedly recruited in an arbitrary manner in Bolangir district in 2013. Earlier, the tribunal had issued an interim stay on the decision of the Bolangir district administration to cancel appointment of the officials.
In the recruitment scam case, Vigilance sleuths had arrested the then district collector of Bolangir, Debraj Mishra and five other officials as they were found responsible for the gross irregularities in the appointments. The candidates were awarded marks as per the order of the district Collector. It was alleged that the collector in collaboration with some of staff had collected money from candidates against the promise of providing them with jobs.
