“Run for Excellence” by coal miners, family marked the beginning of 43rd Coal India day celebrations at MCL

Sambalpur, November 1, 2017: “Run for Excellence” by the coal miners and their family members today marked the beginning of 43rd Coal India day celebrations at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a leading supplier of fossil fuel to power plants in the country.
As the beginning of two-day celebrations, Mr J P Singh, Director (Technical/Operations) flagged off “Run for Excellence” from MCL Anand Vihar grounds while First Lady of the company Dr Nisha Thakur, president, Jagriti Mahila Mandal, flagged off run organised for the ladies.

Mr L N Mishra, Director (Personnel), Mr Munawar Khursheed, IRPF, Chief Vigilance Officer, Mr O P Singh, Director (Technical/Projects & Planning) were prominent among senior officers participating in the “Run For Excellence”.

Former Directors of the company Mr S P Singh, DT (Retd) Mr B M Nag, DF (Retd), Mr G D Gulab, DP (Retd), Mr A K Singh, DT (Retd), Mr S C Padhy, former DP, MCL/ (Director HR (Retd), Nalco) and Mr P C Panigrahi, DP (Retd) also participated in the celebrations and motivated their younger generation.

The winners under different categories in the “Run for Excellence” were also awarded by Jagriti Mahila Mandal president Dr Thakur, vice-presidents Ms Paramjit Kaur, Ms Madhoo Mishra, Ms Padamja Singh and Ms Naushina Afrin Ali.

Mr Naseer Khan was the invited motivational speaker at 11th J G Kumarmangalam Lecture, which was attended by the Directors, members of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), senior officers and staff.

In a bid to encourage young talents, MCL organised the 3rd Inter-Sambalpur Schools Dance Completion, which has a very popular competition among schools of Sambalpur.
Besides a musical evening, the Coal India Foundation Day Cup Golf Tournament-2017 will also be organised tomorrow.
