Bhubaneswar: Renowned singer Padma Shri Prafulla Kar was honoured with the second Sinkandar Alam Memorial Award on Friday. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik felicitated Kar with the award at the State Secretariat here with a citation and a shawl. Late legendary singer Alam’s daughter Nazia Alam spoke about the award.
Notably, the first Sinkandar Alam Memorial Award has been given to noted singer Pranab Patnaik. Among others, Tourism and Culture Minister Jyotiprakash Panigrahi, Culture Secretary Monoranjan Panigrahi, Utkal Prasanga Editor Lenin Mohanty and family members of Alam were present.
