Report by Kahnu Nanda, Jagatsinghpur: A regional workshop and consultation of draft state policy of children rights was held in Sadbhabana Sabha Gruha inside the collector office here on Friday, representatives from as many as 6 coastal districts mainly disaster prone were participated and discussed the several issues connecting to children rights.
State commission for protection of children chairperson Kasturi Mahapatra, project director Biswajit Das, Children protection cell and draft committee chairman Ajit Mohanty, sub collector Subash Nathsharma, Professor Nabanita Rath attending the event as resource persons spelled out that children rights is the main endeavor of the sate draft policy how to protect children from social evils, ill practices like to check the child marriage, child labour, child exploitation would be given importance on the new draft policy.
A work shop was followed by all the stake holders working for children rights attended by child protect cells representatives coming from Bhadrak, Balesore, Cuttack, Puri, Kendrapada districts host Jagatsinghpur district Child protection cell officer Kanhu Charan Rout coordinated the event.
