Prof. S N Mishra, Dean, School of Management, KIIT delivered a talk on role of parliamentary democracy in India

Bhubaneswar: Prof. S N Mishra, Dean, School of Management, KIIT today delivered a talk on role of parliamentary democracy in India — its strength and changes — at the exhibition-cum-seminar organised here in the Institute of Physics. Exhibition-cum-Seminar on New India – We Resolve to make’ organised by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs in association with Mahanadi Coalfields Limited and Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity at Institute of Physics. Shri Bipin Bihari Mishra, General Manager, MCL has shared the dias with Prof Mishra during the seminar.

The talk focused on Leadership is the key to development of a country which can change the vision of a country, democracy is all about not being afraid; crisis is an opportunity by giving various key examples. Three major components of this session are Parliamentary Democracy in India, Challenges to democracy and what we need to do.

Prof. Mishra also appreciated the initiatives taken by the Central Government like Make in India, Skill India and Digital India and praised the exhibition depicting various historical events between 1857 to 1947.

Students from various technical and management institutes visited the exhibition on pre-independence history of India and they excited to know the historical events. The talks show follow by the mesmerising Sambalpuri Dance performed by Dayal welfare organisation, Balasore.

It may be noted here that, the exhibition cum seminar will continue till 13th September everyday with talk shows like To Make the country free of poverty, to make the country free of communalism and to make the country free of corruption and cultural programme by Song & Drama Division, Bhubaneswar (Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) in the afternoon 1600 hrs to 19.30 hrs.
