Prof Dr. Mrinal Chattarjee’s ‘Window Seat’ and ‘Shakti’ Launched at Kalinga Literature Festival

Bhubaneswar: Renowned satirist and author Professor Dr. Mrinal Chattarjee’s books ‘Window Seat’ and ‘Shakti’ were released here at Kalinga Literature Festival on Sunday.
‘Shakti’ is the English translation of Professor Chatterjee’s Odia novel of the same name. Seasoned media academician and writer Mr. Nadeem Khan has translated the book. On the other hand, ‘Window Seat’ is a compilation of light-hearted columns, written by the author in last few years.
On this occasion, Professor Chatterjee distributed mango seeds among the audience and urged them to plant them somewhere in the coming rainy season, which is just around the corner. Deeksha Tiwari, Kamalakant Das, and M. Mahajan launched the book along with the author at the event.
Speaking on this occasion, Kamalakant Das said, “Any seed, like any window indicates possibilities and potential. Sow the seed, take care and it grows into a tree and may realize its full potential. Similarly, a window shows you the outer world and draws into an engagement with the unknown- which eventually brings out the best in you. Both have the ‘shakti’ to transform you and probably the world around.”
Professor Chatterjee looked quite hopeful both about the books and his afforestation Initiative. “Many of the audience present during the book release ceremony took the seeds. I do not know how many will be planted and how many will grow to its full potential. But I am hopeful that some of them will definitely be planted and grow,” he said.
