Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaches France to attend G7 meeting

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached France from Bahrain to attend G7 meeting in Biarritz.

The Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit. India has been invited to attend the summit as “Biarritz Partner” country . Though India is not a member of the G-7 grouping, Prime Minister Modi has been personally invited by the French President Emmanuel Macron. Ministry of External Affairs had said that the invitation was a “reflection of the personal chemistry” between the two leaders and also “recognition of India as a major economic power”.

The countries which are part of the G7 include the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the US. Annual meet attended by leaders of G7 member countries. Theme of G7 summit: ‘Fighting Inequality’. Prime Minister will also hold bilateral meetings on sidelines of summit.
