ANANTA PATNAIK(1914-1987)
Ananta Patnaik was born at Chanahata in the district of Puri in 1914. He has been admired in the progressive Oriya poetry as a revolutionary poet. In 1965 he was awarded Soviet Land Nehru Award for his excellent translation of ‘MOTHER’ in Oriya from the Original writing of Gorcky. In 1980, he was awarded Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award for his poetry ‘Abantara’.
His poetries include ‘RAKTASIKHA’, UTHA JAGA BHOKIBANDI, CHHAIRA CHHITA, ALODA LODA, SANTI SIKHA, TARPANA KARE AJI, KINCHIT, ABANTARA. His story includes CHADHA ATTARA. His traslation include ‘MAA’ (Gorcky’s Mother) and BHAGYARU KHIE. His dramas include RAVANA, CHIRA ANDHRA RATI. Children’s literatures include CHHABITIE KU GAPATIE, KASARA GHODA.
