Bhubaneswar: The position of the girls in our society is very insecure. To make their position strong, future secure and a better life, PECUC, a leading voluntary organization working for child rights of Odisha observed National Girl Child Day for “Empowering Girls for a Brighter Tomorrow” in Patha Utsav on 27th January 2019. Awareness programmes like human chain and art competition was also organized to mark this occasion. The social position of girls will improve only when all types of social discrimination and exploitation of girls in the society will stop. It is very necessary for the girls to get full potential, safe and enabling environment. They should be aware of all their legal rights and the facts of life. They should be aware that they have the good education, nutrition and health care rights. In PECUC’s space children were provided lots of play materials which they enjoyed a lot and also participated on the children corner in art, quiz and various cultural programme and created awareness for protection girl child.
