2 large Potatoes
11/2 cups Dried yellow peas
3 small Tomatoes
1 medium Onion
1 inch Ginger
3 Garlic cloves
2 Cardamoms (green)
1 teaspoon Cumin
seeds
2 small sticks
Cinnamon
3 Cloves
1 teaspoon Cumin
powder
1 teaspoon Coriander
powder
1 teaspoon Garam
masala
2 tablespoons Coriander leaves
1/2 teaspoon
Red chilli powder
4 Green chillies
1 teaspoon Turmeric
powder
3 tablespoons
Oil Salt
(As per taste)
Method :
Boil
and cube the potatoes. Soak the peas in water
for 6 hours and boil. Grind the onion, garlic,
ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves to a fine
paste with water.
Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a frying pan, add cumin
seeds and fry till they start spluttering. Add
green chillies and ground paste, fry for 2 minutes.
Add all the masala powders, salt and chopped tomatoes.
Saute till the tomatoes are tender. Add the boiled
peas, potatoes and little water.
Cover and simmer for 7 minutes.
Serve hot with rotis.
