Bhubaneswar: Pramod Bhagat of Odisha wins Gold in para badminton men’s singles event at 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia. Pramod earned the spot after defeating his opponent Ukun Rukaendi of Thailand in the sets of 21-19, 15-21, and 21-14.
Bhagat hails from Bargarh district, afflicted with polio at the age of seven, had first participated in national para badminton championship in 2006. He bagged gold medal in the doubles event of the World Championship in Germany 2013. He has also secured bronze medals in singles and doubles event of the 4th Turkish Para Badminton Championship that was held in May 2018.
