Odisha’s Jitendra Mishra selected as JURY for the biggest Educational Cinema Festival – MICE in Spain

Bhubaneswar: Film maker & promoter Jitendra mishra is invited as Jury for the MICE – ‘ Mostra International Cinema Education’ film festival in Valencia, Spain, going to be held this month from10 – 24 February 2018. This festival is considered to be the most important International Festival of Educational Cinema in Europe. It is a space where international and local students and teachers participate and express themselves though cinema. MICE is an audiovisual space that entertains while educating participants in filmmaking, a space where one can share their experiences and audiovisual work with others. Children & youth enjoy international and Valencia productions, both by professionals and those produced by students in classrooms. Workshops, presentations, concerts and a wide range of activities will provide learning opportunities for students, training for teachers and fun for the whole family.

On this occasion Mr Mishra said “ I was an average student during my academic career, now it gives me enough encouragement when I am being invited to judge films made by University students, that to in a European country. It always opens doors to opportunities in terms of international exposure & networking for our own festival SIFFCY, I am planning to invite few best films of this festival to our festival this year. We at SIFFCY have been using meaningful cinema to engage, entertain, educate & empower young minds and these kinds of international opportunities is an encouragement to our efforts”. Mr Josep Arbiol, Festival Director of MICE said “ It’s a great privilege to have such talented profession Jitendra Mishra as Jury in our festival this time, it’s an opportunity to exchange art, culture, values and ideas between our two nations through cinema and strengthen our cultural relationship”.

Born in Titlagarh, Odisha Jitendra Mishra is one of the few Indian film producers & promoters who have been able to create a benchmark in ‘Alternative method of Film Production, Distribution & Promotion’ at international level. Committed towards meaningful cinema, Jitendra has been associated only with socially relevant films made for children and youth. He has already been associated with the production, distribution and promotion of more than 110 films in all categories. Many of them have got worldwide acclamation and recognition. Apart from this, he has designed and has been the Festival Director of the unique film festival ‘SIFFCY’ (Smile Int’l FF for Children & Youth) for Smile Foundation, India. Jitendra has been awarded with many national level awards including the prestigious ‘Son of Odisha’ , ‘Young Jury’ , ‘Youth Icon’ , ‘Youth Inspiration’ in India & recognized in international platforms, he has been selected as Jury to many leading international film festivals & forums earlier also. Recently he was elected as Board of Director for the largest & oldest international media network CIFEJ.
