Odisha: Two labourers die working in latrine chamber in Jagatsinghpur municipal area

Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: Two labourers were died due to suffocation in Sujanga village under Jagatsinghpur municipal area on Sunday while working in a latrine tank of a house owner Balaram Pati. The deceased were identified as 29 year old Raja Bhoi from Jagatsinghpur town and a middle aged man Prakash Barik from Mandasahi village 8 km away from here.

Report said that house owner Pati had constructed a new latrine in residential area three weeks ago, the latrine chamber centering was not cleared so on Sunday morning deceased duo labourers were engaged scrubbing the work. Acting on the work both were entered latrine chamber and reported unconscious so immediately shifted to headquarters hospital for treatment where both were declared brought dead by doctor. Police seized dead bodies and registered an unnatural death case and performed postmortem in district headquarters hospital and progressing an investigation, police said.
