Odisha: State Crime Branch felicitates police officer and prosecution lawyer 

Report by Kahnu Nanda; Jagatsinghpur: The state crime branch police on Wednesday felicitated police officer and prosecution lawyer engaged in the Erasama minor rape and murder case, due to their sincere efforts and accomplishments the special POCSO court Jagatsinghpur awarded capital punishment to the accused. Both were awarded cash prize of Rs 5,000 and appreciation certificates each by state DGP B K Sharma in presence of few senior cops.
The then Erasama police station IIC Bichitra Nanda Sethy who investigated the case successfully arrested the accused man Laba Manna and filed charge sheet in POCSO court within 60 days and adduced as many as 25 witnesses and evidences including the medical reports in courts. On turn the prosecution lawyer Siva Prashad Majhi presented the case effectively in court so as the POSCO judge Moon Rani Mishra satisfied with prosecution legal obligations awarded death penalty to the accused man.
DGP Mr Sharma who felicitated both in crime branch headquarters in Cuttack spelled out his heartiest appreciation to both police officer and lawyer, said due to proper coordination between police and prosecution, the accused man sent to gallows, DGP said. Among others ADGP Santosh Kumar Upadhaya, crime branch DIG A N Sinha, central DIG Ashis Singh, Jagatsinghpur SP Prakash R, crime branch SP Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra were present.
