Report by Bhaskar Pradhan; Bhubaneswar : Today the Odisha Quiz Association to mark 6th year celebration organised a grand quizzing event called Quizzicus Indica – The India Quiz-2017 here at DAV Chandrasekharpur. More than 200 school students from class 8 to 12 from Dav cspur,Davcda,Sai international school,Ruchika school,Bjem school participated in this Event. The quizmaster for the event was Satwik Rout. A prize distribution ceremony was undertaken at the dotted venue.
Lastly Abanis Nayak Secretary of Odisha Quiz Association proposed a warm vote of thanks to all. Notable that, the Odisha Quiz Association (OQA) is a society formed by inquisitive minds of Odisha to promote knowledge building through Quizzing as a sport. The society founded in 2010, has a broad membership base, ranging from students to professionals and businessmen.
Quizzing in India is said to have originated in erstwhile Calcutta, while today the hegemony has shifted down south to Bangalore. Odisha in the middle of both the places has always had a culture of intellectual pursuit. At one time it was observed that the quizzers in Odisha have great potential to reach the echelons of quizzing nationally and even internationally.
