Odisha: Puri town to witness world’s largest coastal clean-up exercise on September 21

Puri: Puri to witness world’s largest coastal clean-up exercise on September 21. 5,000 volunteers will be engaged at 100 spots across Puri coastline.

Along with the District Administration, this campaign is being financed and mentored by ICZMP under Forest and Environment Department of the Odisha Government, Tourist Department Government of Odisha, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), Odisha Pollution Control Board (OPCB) and The Bharat Scouts and Guides.

The two hour long cleanup campaign will start at 6 A.M. with thousands of volunteers `Signature on Sand’ and taking an oath to protect our beaches and oceans by Reduce, Reuse and Recycle of waste especially plastic waste, said Puri Collector Balwant Singh.

Earlier the Puri District Administration in June this year had launched #MoBeach campaign to keep the shoreline clean and beautiful.
