Odisha: Power supply restoration work in full swing; in Bhubaneswar connection restored to 2.32 lakh consumers out of 2.42 lakh

Bhubanseswar: The State Government is taking all out efforts to restore the power supply to all the consumers. In Bhubaneswar urban area the restoration work has gained momentum and the achievement is as per target. There are 3 divisions namely BCDD-I, BCDD-II and BED.

In BCDD-I all the 44 feeders have been charged by 9th May. Out of 58,000 consumers under this division 51, 000 consumers have been supplied with electricity by 11th May. As on today 55,000 consumers have been supplied with electricity. The rest consumers would be covered soon. In BCDD-II out of 66 feeders 66 feeders have been charged. Out of the total 97000 consumers 95,000 consumers have already been provided with powersupply and rest consumers will be restored power supply tonight. In BCDD-II work in progress to charge rural feeders. In this division 16 rural feeders have been operationalised. Today another 4 feeders will be made functional. All feeders will be made functional by 15th May. In BED (Urban) all 28 nos of 11 KV feeders have been made operational. Out of 87,000 consumers 82000 consumers have been provided with electricity. Rest of the consumers will be provided electricity today midnight. 75 linemen have been specially deployed to repair service connections as well as LT lines and to attend fuse calls. 260 ITI, Polytechnic trained persons and plumbers are visiting all houses in Bhubaneswar for sorting out problems relating to electricity connection and drinking water. 200 ITI, Polytechnic trained persons and plumbers are also visiting all houses in Cuttack for sorting out problems relating to electricity connection and drinking water.

In Cuttack City restoration work is in full swing under 3 divisions namely CDD-I, CDD-II and CED. In CDD-I out of total 51 nos. of 11 kv feeder, all have been charged. Out of total 72000 consumers under this division 70,000 consumers have been supplied with electricity by now. Technicians, Linemen and Skilled Trainees from ITIs and Polytechnics have been mobilized to complete the restoration work within the targeted dateline. They are on the job day and night and even under the scorching sun to help the affected people.

In CDD-II 23 out of 44 feeders have been made operational with 45,000 consumers supplied with electricity out of total 70,000 consumers under the division.
Rest consumers will be covered by 15th May. In CED, two 33 KV feeders have been damaged. Out of total 38 nos. of 11 KV feeders, 16 have been charged. Work is being
done on war footing to supply electricity very soon to rest of the consumers. Out of total 95,000 rural consumers under this division 46,000 consumers have been supplied with electricity.
