Report by Akshya Rout; Jajpur: Police have arrested three “supari” killers allegedly involved in the murder of Kedar Das a dalit leader and the Panchayat Samiti Member (PSM) of Nijamapur Gram Panchayat under Mangalapur police station in Jajpur district and seized one four-wheeler from them on Tuesday.
Jajati Keshari Sahoo,Surya Narayan Swain and Subash Sahoo had reportedly admitted that they had killed Kedar Das on 1st August. On 16th August police had arrested Prasant Nayak(41) the husband of the defeated Sarapanch candidate Priyatama Nayak who hired ‘Supari ‘ killers to kill Kedar Das, said the the Superintendent of Police of Jajpur, Charana Singh Meena on Tuesday.
The body of 48 year old Kedar Das was found with injury marks in the river Budha near Chainapur Ghat on 3rd August two days after he had gone missing from his village Susua , added the police officer.
The hired killers dumped the body of Kedar Das in the river Budha after brutally killing him on 1st August Night when the victim was returning to his village Susua. The body was discovered by some local people who noticed the body floating in the river on 3rd August. During the nearly month long investigation , we managed to crack the case by arresting Prasant Nayak and four Supari killers in this case added the police officer.
All the arrested persons were produced in the court at Jajpur Road on Tuesday . The court rejected their bail applications and remanded them in jail custody,added the police officer.
