Odisha Police Arrested Three Maoist Militia Members in Koraput district

Report by Nishappati Nayak; Koraput: Police today arrested three militia members of Nandapur division of Maoists in Koraput district today. The three rebels identified as Biswanath Hantal, Sahadev Hantal and Ghanu Sisa were actively involved in Maoist activities since last one year. Apart from co-operating with the outlawed outfit in various activities, they basically organise meeting in tribal villages of the division.

The trio was arrested during a combing operation in Hatibari area following the murder of the local sarpanch on August 8, Padua police station official Kailash Chandra Sethy said.

Police had intensified combing operations in Hatibari area after Srikakulam-Koraput division of the extremist organisation allegedly killed the sarpanch by slitting his throat .
