Odisha Police arrested 21 ABVP activists for barging into BSE office in Cuttack

Cuttack: 21 ABVP activists, including a woman arrested for barging into Board of Secondary Education (BSE) office in Cuttack in protest of Matric question paper going viral on social media. ension erupted after ABVP activists scuffled with Board of Secondary Education (BSE) officials here on Tuesday while the BJP affiliated outfit was protesting incidents of matriculation examination paper going viral on social media.

According to reports, the outfit had staged the demonstration in front of the BSE office demanding action against the officials behind circulating the matriculation question paper on social media.

Over 30 ABVP activists barged into the headquarters at around 11 am and clashed with the security guards and officials as they tried to prevent them.

The activists damaged the main gate of the office and allegedly tried to ransack property.

Senior officials of Commissionerate Police led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Akhileswar Singh and Assistant Commissioner of Police of several zones rushed to the spot being informed about the incident. Police resorted to mild lathicharge to disperse the ABVP activists from the BSE headquarters.

Notably, after the question paper of Odia subject was made viral on WhatsApp on February 23 followed by English on February 26, almost an hour after the commencement of the exams, the State Government ordered a Crime Branch probe.
Students write answers of objective multiple choice questions in OMR sheets from 9 am to 10 am in first sitting and in the second sitting they write subjective answers in question cum answer booklet from 10 am to 11.30 am.
The question papers are made viral after completion of the first sitting of the exam.
