Odisha PCC Chief visited PMO, handed over cheque of Rs 20 lakh for early upgrading of IGH Rourkela to super speciality hospital

New Delhi: A team led by PCC president Niranjan Patnaik visited the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in New Delhi on Tuesday and handed over a cheque of Rs 20,20,504 to officials for early upgrading of the IGH Rourkela to a super speciality hospital.

“The Prime Minister had promised to upgrade the IGH to a super speciality hospital. A youth of Rourkela walked long to reach New Delhi to remind the Prime Minister of his promise. However, the demand has not been fulfilled yet,” alleged the PCC team.

The PCC team handed over a cheque of Rs 20,20,504 collected online through crowd funding as per a request of AICC president Rahul Gandhi for the purpose, informed the team.

Among others, AICC secretary Anil Chowdhury, joint secretary Aditya Sharma, MLA George Tirky, senior leader Anant Sethi, Jagannath Pattnaik, Rourkela DCC president Rabi Ray, Media cell chairman Satyaprakash Nayak, Social media coordinator Abhisek Mahanand and Suchitra Mohanty were in the team.
