Bhubaneswar: JMM leader Dr Debasish Marandi on Firday joins ruling BJD on the presence of party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Naveen Niwas.
Dr Debasish Marandi is a former student leader of the SCB Medical College, joined the BJD quitting his post as a Senior Medical Officer of Nalco. Patnaik said, “Dr Debashish Marandi will be a tremendous asset (to the BJD), particularly in Mayurbhanj district. We welcome more and more professionals to join the Biju Janata Dal. We will certainly provide a platform for them.”
Marandi expressed his gratitude to Patnaik for the Supreme Court panel’s nod for students’ admission in the Baripada-based Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College for this academic session.
“I will work hard to serve not only people of Mayurbhanj district but also entire Odisha to strengthen the party,” he added.
