Jajpur: Foundation-stone was laid for establishment of a second (rural) campus of the Utkal University at Siha village under Barchana block of Jajpur district at a function on Monday.
Higher Education Minister Ananta Das laid the foundation-stone in the presence of local MLA Amar Prasad Satapathy and new Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University Soumendra Mohan Patnaik.
Construction work of the rural campus of the university is likely to be completed by 2019. This campus would be built on 66.30 acres of land. The Minister said large numbers of students of rural areas would read in this campus.
