Odisha govt waives off royalty on Sal leaves, 25 lakh tribal communities to benefit

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced to waive off the royalty on Sal leaves, a Minor Forest Produce (MFP). The state government’s move is expected to benefit about 25 lakh tribal communities who collect the minor forest produce and make plates from it. The prevailing royalty rate on Sal leaves is Rs 86 per quintal.
