Bhubaneswar: Odisha Govt signed MoU with Tata Trusts for settlement of slum land, transforming slums to livable habitats. MoU with Tata Trusts held in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the state secretariat.
MoU signed between Housing & Urban Development Department and Tata Trusts for field implementation of settlement of land rights in urban areas in presence of Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik Highlights from his address at the event:
• First of its kind initiative in the country will grant land rights to slum dwellers in Municipal Corporations, Municipalities & NACs.
• Seven months ago, State Government enacted The Odisha Land Rights to Slum Dwellers Act, 2017 for providing land and property rights to slum dwellers in small towns and cities
• Settlement being done in a systematic and scientific manner by leveraging technology and involving the community
Chief Minister Shri Patnaik congratulated Tata Trusts who will be providing technical support for this initiative and urged all District Collectors & officials to accord top priority to this work.
