Bhubaneswar: The State Government has made a Budgetary allocation of Rs 450.49 crore to form the Biju Yuba Bahini in gram panchayat and municipal levels.
Sports and Youth Services Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJP MLA Dilip Ray on Wednesday.
The Minister said the Biju Yuba Bahini is aimed at inculcating social values in youths. Volunteer ship and leadership qualities would be instilled in them. They would be encouraged for community services. Besides, art and sports qualities would be development in them, said the Minister.
Each Yuva Bahini would be given Rs 1.5 lakh per annum, he said. Youths aged between 15 and 35 years are being included in the mission. By April 5, as many as 2,91, 746 youths have been included in it.
