Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government today hikes prices of Kendu leaves by 25% per bundle; Kendu leaf pluckers to get 100% bonus; binders & seasonal workers to get 20% bonus. The decision will help around 8 lakh kendu leaf pluckers, binders and seasonal workers. It would have a burden of around Rs 160 crore on the state exchequer.
The decision was taken during a Kendu leaf Development Board meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here today.
