Odisha Govt directed Collectors to ensure no rich farmers, pensioners, Govt staff under KALIA Scheme

Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary AP Padhi on Thursday directed district Collectors to ensure that names of large farmers, retired Government employees and Government and PSU employees are not enrolled in the KALIA scheme, a list of which would be published on January 22. Reviewing execution of the KALIA scheme through videoconferencing, Padhi directed the Collectors to complete data entry of green and red forms and publish the first-phase list of eligible farmers by January 22.

It was revealed that about 66 lakh green forms have been received from farmers of the State for inclusion and about one lakh forms received for exclusion of names from the KALIA scheme. Data entry operators with adequate computers have been deployed at GP, block and district levels for conducting data entry works. About 10.50 lakh forms can be linked to computers. While Data Entry Operators will work in three shifts, observers have been sent to each district for inspection.

Agriculture and Famers’ Empowerment Secretary Sourav Garg said assistances would be credited in accounts of eligible farmers under the KALIA scheme by January 25. The second phase of application submission would be held from January 25 to February 5. Among others, Development Commissioner Ashit Kumar Tripathy, Revenue and Disaster Mnagement Secretary Nikunja Dhal, Information and Public Relations Secretary Sanjay Singh, Cooperation Secretary Kishan Kumar were present.
