Odisha Governor awards degrees to 1595 at convocation of Centurion University

Bhubaneswar: Centurion University of Technology and Management held its 5th Convocation on its sprawling Campus at Bhubaneswar on 11th of December 2017.

The Hon’ble Governor, Dr SC Jamir, who is the Visitor of the University presided over the Ceremony. Mr Steven Herbert, Former Minister, Skill & Training, Government of Victoria (Australia) was the Chief Guest and delivered the Commencement Address. Prof Ruth Wallace, Director, Northern Institute, Charles Darwin University (Australia) was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.

In his speech, Mr Herbert encouraged the students to “always focus on the outcomes you wish to achieve” and “Put in the effort of planning your job, your career now, at the beginning, and your journey will not only be easier, but much more successful.”

Prof Ruth Wallace expressed deep interest in collaboration between Charles Darwin University and Centurion and hoped that this visit would open channels for exchanging knowledge for mutual benefit and enhanced productivity.
In total 1595 graduates of various disciplines were awarded degree in the convocation. 17 students have been awarded gold medalsfor their outstanding performances in the various disciplines and 25 scholars were conferred Ph.D degree
The Hon’ble Governor congratulated the new Graduates and appreciated Centurion University for “being pioneer in skill integrated higher education and creating a set of viable social enterprises, both in rural and urban space, that are integral to its unique educational ecosystem.”
