Bhubaneswar: Governor of Odisha Satya Pal Malik, in exercise of the powers conferred on him under Article 161 of the Constitution of India gave approval to premature release of 24 life convicts. Governor acted on the recommendation of the State Sentence Review Board and the State Government. Premature release of life convict intends to give him an opportunity to become a sociable human being for the remaining period of life.
