Odisha is the first state in country to implement Climate Change Action Plan

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the Real-Time Flood Forecasting Model in Mahanadi Basin developed by Water Resources Odisha and supported by the State Climate Change Innovation Program. Mahanadi Basin is the largest inter-state basin and Mahanadi is the largest river in the state. Implementation of this model will enable better flood control and its management through early warning systems which has special relevance and great significance in context of climate change.
He congratulated the department for implementing the model and sought continued efforts for improving efficiency of the model as well as training for staff to help enhance planning and decision support system.
