Cuttack: Sri Sri University , Cuttack, Odisha successfully organized and hosted “FINOMENA 2017”, their 4th National Conclave on the theme of “Finance in the VUCA world” on Saturday 4th November, 2017 . The chief guest for the conclave was industry expert Mr. Chandan Taparia , Associate Vice President & Head Technical and Derivatives, Motilal Oswal Securities Ltd.. He spoke extensively about market analysis and investments opportunities in today’s changing economic scenario. The two guests of honour were Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Senior Consultant and Program Director, International Solar Alliance, New Delhi and Mr. Srinivas Mohapatra, Senior General Manager (Finance) Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited , Bhubanewar. They addressed questions ranging from basic accounting concepts to complex market computations and issues involving risk management and fintech. From the University, Prof. Nand Lal, Vice Chancellor , Shri. Narendra Lamba , Director of Operations, Prof P. Srinivas Subbarao, Dean , Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies and Dr. Prasanna Kumar David, Executive Registrar presided over the inaugural of the conclave.
There were three technical sessions and presentations were made by 8 teams from the University and one participation team by students from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore. The various topics included Block chain technology, fintech , risk management and portfolio management and hedging strategies. This event was a grand success followed by a lucky draw for students. The faculty mentors for the event were Dr.Vijaya Batth and Mr. Binodgopal Mukherjee and the entire event were student driven.
