Odisha DGP RP Sharma reviewed anti-Maoist operations in undivided Koraput district

Koraput: DGP RP Sharma reviewed the anti-Maoist operations in the undivided Koraput district on Wednesday.

Sharma reviewed the security arrangements at Ragayada district SP office. Later, the DGP said a new strategy would be adopted for anti-Maoist drive.

Sources said the DGP convened the meeting after getting intelligence inputs on the hideout of Maoists in Niyamagiri hills. It is believed that the Red rebels are hiding in the Niyamagiri hills after the landmine explosion near Sakata village under the Muniguda police station of the district on April 9 in which a DVF jawan Sanjay Majhi was martyred.

ADG (Operation) RP Koche, IG (Intelligence) R.K Sharma, SIW IG Ghanshyam Upadhyay, South Western Range DIG S Shyni, Rayagada Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul PR and SPs of the undivided Koraput districts were present.
