Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress MLA Subal Sahu from Bijepur constituency of Bargarh district in Odisha passed away on Tuesday. He was 57.
He was suffering from cancer and died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here today. Sahu was elected to Odisha Assembly for three times from Bijepur constituency in Bargarh district consecutively in the year 2004, 2009 and 2014. In the 2014 Assembly Poll, he defeated BJD’s Prasanna Acharya.
Born on March 11, 1961 at Barpali in Bargarh district, Sahu was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly thrice (2004, 2009, 2014) from Bijepur constituency.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Leader of Opposition in State Assembly Narasingha Mishra have expressed grief over the demise of Sahu.
