According to sources, the integrated command and control centre, named Bhubaneswar Operations Centre (BOC), would be the biggest among all cities across the nation.

The first of its kind centralized command control centre will monitor, operate, and control existing services of the city. The command centre will keep an eye on several functions like traffic management, incident management, city surveillance, emergency services, disaster management and much more. Various external modules shall also be integrated into the system to provide real-time decision support.

The construction work for the upcoming centre is nearing completion and shall be inaugurated soon. This state-of-art centre includes a massive video wall of more than 100-foot length (with 16 x 2 configuration of 70 inch panels) and shall be used to monitor traffic management, the large volume of close circuit television (CCTV) footage, highly sophisticated sensor data, emergency services, etc. This centre will provide a digital platform for integrating multiple city sub-systems of Traffic Management, Parking, Public Transport, and Common Payment Card along with Effective Emergency Response Management for any incident in the city.

Once operational, this will greatly improve the speed and efficiency of service delivery by the city through proper inter-agency coordination with police, fire services and health facilities.
