Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik reviewed performances of five more departments

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday reviewed performances of five more departments at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday.

He reviewed the performances of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department. Speaking about his departments’ performances, Minister Pradeep Maharathy said he has got a first class in performances.

Reviewing Panchayati Raj Department, Government of Odisha performance, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik directed completion of 20 lakh pucca houses for people in rural areas by September, 2018. He underscored the need to fulfill the promise to ensure permanent roof over every head in the state. In the last four years more than 17 lakh pucca houses have been constructed under the mission #HousingForAll.

Besides housing, provisioning basic infrastructure like drinking water, sanitation & lighting to ensure good quality of life for people in villages are top priority. At least two villages in each Gram Panchayat will have piped water supply connection by the end of 2018-19.

The Chief Minister lauded the performance of the Department in housing, skill development, job guarantee & welfare measures. Odisha has been recognised as the best State in Skill Development of rural youth for second time in two years. It ranks highest in Anganwadi construction and provisioning work under MGNREGS.

He directed officials to ensure completion of all projects in time so that people enjoy the benefits as early as possible.
