Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik orders CB probe into Patrapur minor gangrape case. Police meanwhile said it has arrested the main accused Kamal Pradhan in the case who had married the victim first and then left her in the forest.
It should be noted that the gang rape incident in Ganjam’s Patrapur was protested by Opposition legislators in the Assembly today. The BJP and Congress legislators demanded an explanation from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the incident. Meanwhile, the main accused in the case has been arrested by police.
The protests of MLAs of the Opposition parties led the Assembly proceedings to stall. Many protesting leaders said that police took the victim to a site and changed her statement. Now the 13 year old is saying she had married. Also, her medical examination was delayed and her age has been increased to 15 in the report the MLAs alleged.
